While there have been improvements in regulating ingredients, research is often inconsistent or lacking, particularly when considering the microbiome. It is evident that we have a long way to go in understanding how many common skincare ingredients influence our microbiome.
Richard continues to investigate the body’s microbiome and its effect on the body. He has significantly reduced the occurrence of his own skin conditions by implementing findings from his studies. He uses these studies to produce Biotaderm, a range of skincare, focused on caring for the skin and its microbiome to visibly improve the skin’s appearance and later brought this knowledge to our skin's microbiome, which marked the beginning of utilising the research to enhance skincare, ensuring the skin and its microbiome are at their healthiest, ready to confront life's challenges
Biotaderm is the creation of Richard Bence, graduate of Chemistry with Biochemistry from King's College London. With approaching 20 years in the natural and organic cosmetics sector, Richard has in-depth experience of the science behind natural ingredients that support skin and microbiome health, all while minimising adverse impacts on the environment.
